Ruby Elizabeth Walker Smith, 99, died Thursday in Duke Hospital. A Durham native, she was the daughter of William Thomas and Mary Holt Rhew Walker. She was raised in the Bahama area, and attended schools in Orange and Durham counees, graduating from Mangum High School.
