
Stephen Scott Taylor, 53, of Durham, North Carolina went to be with the lord after a long courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Duke Hospital with his family by his side. Mr. Taylor was born in Weston, West Virginia, on September 27, 1959 to the late Austin Taylor and Lois E. Taylor of Fort Myers, FL. Stephen grew up in Elkview, WV and graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in the class of 1977 and attended Fairmont State College in Fairmont, WV. He held many positions with Bell Atlantic and Verizon before retiring from Verizon in 2010. Stephen will be lovingly remembered by his wife Patricia Ann Taylor whom he married on March, 21, 1987, his children Amanda Taylor of Boca Raton, FL, Matthew Taylor of Durham, and Jennifer Taylor of Boca Raton, FL. In addition to his mother Lois, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Edward J. and Kathleen M. Pacitti of West Chester, PA, sister Lois Ann Carnes and husband Rex of Gastonia, NC, brother Tim Taylor of Hurricane, WV, sister-in-law Tammy Taylor of Weston, WV many nieces and nephews, and the many other family members and friends whose lives he touched. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey Taylor, and grandparents, Cecil Taylor, Kathlyn Taylor and Exie Conrad.
A celebration of life will be offered 11:00 AM Monday, February 18, 2013 from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W. Main Street, Durham.
The family requests, that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
