Patricia Alexandra Lochmuller, 75, died at home on Monday, May 21, 2018 after many years of pain and debilitation.
Born in New York City, Patricia Markson graduated from Cathedral High School and attended Bronx Community College before marrying Charles H Lochmuller in 1963. A devoted homemaker, wife, and mother, Patricia accompanied her husband to Purdue before coming to Durham in 1969.
Patricia had a wide range of friends and interests. The later included natural healing, meditation, martial arts, dog training, and cooking. (Many thought she made the best pizza they had ever eaten).
Beneath her beauty, energy, vivacity, warmth, kindness and charm, beat an immensely compassionate heart. She was capable of extraordinary generosity towards people in need, a giving of herself as well as time, energy and purse to both man and beast. This openness to others was fueled by a passionate spirituality. She was a great lover of Jesus, inflamed by the Holy Spirit and gifted for healing. Much of her time was spent in prayer, and all of her suffering was united to Christ’s.
Patricia is survived by her son, Christopher M. Lochmuller, M.D., and wife, Susan of Knoxville, TN and granddaughters, Amanda Lochmuller and Abigail Lochmuller; and brother, Michael Markson and wife, Margie of Rockaway, New Jersey.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Lochmuller, son Charles and daughters, Erika and Heather.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 PM Friday May 25th at Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Chris VanHaight O.F.M. presiding. Burial will follow at St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6-8 PM Thursday, May 24th at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
Memorial contributions may be made to EWTN or St. Jude’s Hospital.
