Patricia Farrell Jacques, 57, of NC Hwy. 902, Pittsboro, died Wednesday morning, March 16, 2011 at her home following a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Pat was born in Lee County on January 8, 1954, a daughter of Maxine Cook Farrell and Roscoe M. Farrell, Sr. She was an active member of the Pittsboro/Chatham County community, being involved with Pittsboro Relay for Life, the Chatham County Council on Aging and Meals on Wheels. Pat was a member of Pittsboro United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed working with the Women’s Annual Bazaar. She was an avid baker, and especially enjoyed the chocolate bake-off. She loved people and had a genuine appreciation for helping others.
Pat is survived by her husband, Robert “Robin” Jacques and their son, Rob. Also surviving are her father, Roscoe Farrell; sister, Janet Farrell; brother and sister-in-law, Roscoe and Teresa Farrell and their children, Megan and Cody. Bentley, Pat’s bulldog, also survives. Pat was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Farrell.
It was Pat’s desire for cremation with a private burial, with no visitation. Her instructions will be carried out by the family. She asked that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be directed to either the Chatham County Council on Aging, PO Box 715, Pittsboro, NC 27312; Pittsboro United Methodist Church, PO Box 716, Pittsboro, NC 27312; or to Pittsboro Relay for Life, PO Box 874, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
