I am so sorry to hear about JW’s passing. He was truly one of a kind and someone that I am proud to have called”my old friend.” We met years ago at Hillandale and just hit it off… he would call me out of the blue to talk, and to tell me about “life” and remind me of his age and his upcoming birthdays…. and I truly loved taking his calls.

He loved company, and loved dancing with the ladies. I would visit him, not nearly enough, at the Rest Home, and just saw him week before last. He was sitting out front on the porch and we had a nice visit. He enjoyed a cigar, and would have loved a drink he told me.
He was as sharp as always but it was obvious the last few months had taken a toll on him.
The ladies at the Rest Home loved him too..He was known by all, and greeted a new lady the day I visited, and made sure that her daughter knew where his room was in case her mom wanted to visit. He loved to talk.
I am so glad we had that visit. I will miss him, but not forget him. He loved to show me pictures of his family, old hats he collected and talk sports. He also shared with me some pics of things he built over the years.

He loved his family, and still missed his wife up to the very end.

I am so glad to have known him.

Dianne and I are so very sorry to hear of Uncle Bill’s death. Reading his obituary it is hard to believe that he was 96 and that he worked up until 2004. He certainly lived a blessed life and I know that he is playing golf in heaven. We will miss him.

Sammy

As a long time neighbor and friend, Wilbur and Esther, as well as their girls, have been very special to me. I will miss Wilbur’s phone calls and the opportunity to talk about the “good old days” in Lochaven Hills.
