John was a special brother and brother-in-law to my parents Mary and Charlie Griffin. Uncle John will forever remain endeared by my family members. We shall forever remember his warm smile, soft voice, easy ways and wonderful sense of humor. We always enjoyed his company and appreciated the many stories he shared with us. We shall all miss his physical presence but are comforted with the many fond and precious memories that will remain with us. Ronnie, Grace, Denise, Renee and Joe Smith, Candace and Scott Riedl, Caity and Trent.

Mr. John was such a sweet man. Anywhere I would see him in town over the past couple of yrs, I would go in his direction! He always told me “I will never forget that morning you came in to Shop Quik with that pink coat on, you looked just like an angel.” He was so sweet. I enjoyed his company and his talks. Whether we were in the bank or groc store parking lot. I loved that man and I will sure miss seeing him and his big grin.

Condolence from Jane Sturdivant on February 21st, 2011 12:00 am

I will always remember your kind words and sweet “smile”. I always enjoyed stopping by the car wash when you were there. Your winning smile and enthusiasm were contagious. John, you and Grady were truly blessed with these outstanding attributes. You always made everyone feel special and loved. My granddaughter always said your glasses were just like Grady’s and you were almost as handsome with that beautiful hair. You meant alot to me and will be greatly missed by all those who knew you. Thank you for always making me feel like I was a part of the Sturdivant family. That was very important to Grady and I am sure he will thank you when you all get together in heaven. With love and sympathy, Jane Sturdivant
