Dear Colvard Family,

While I didn’t know Jerry, I’m so glad to be put in the obit of her children, grandchildren, and – come October – great grandson.

As you celebrate her comings and goings on this earth, and prepare for the ultimate letting go, may you also find your own peace and rest, knowing that Jerry, in large part, paved the way to make you all more generous, more courageous, more gifted souls that you are.

Condolence from Thomas Newman on August 11th, 2018 10:44 am

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Do know that I and the people of Asbury Church in Raleigh are lifting you up in prayer. As we may do more, please call on me (Tom Newman, pastor).

Mighty God of our parents and best guides for faithful living, I come to you now to ask for your favor for the Colvard family. Thank you for receiving Mrs. Jerry into your Kingdom. Bless now those who continue to labor on in your service without her. Send forth the healing balm of your Holy Spirit that their broken hearts desperately crave. Keep true in them the way that leads to eternal life as they keep alive the very best of Mrs. Jerry. Grant them joy in the midst of sadness and laughter through tears. Exceed all our expectations until that time we are reunited on the Father’s Front Porch with all our loved ones and saints of light who have preceded us. Until then, we who remain offer you praise and glory in Jesus’ name…
