Throughout my life, people have come and gone. Every once in a while someone comes along that makes a home in your heart. Tom did that to me. I thought of him as my surrogate father. I will miss him, but his memory will always be at home in my heart. I am comforted by knowing that he is at peace and in the presence of the Lord. And I know Tubby and Missy are glad to see him.

Condolence from Leon J. Pernell on January 24th, 2013 12:00 am

Tom came into my life at a time when I desperately needed a friend who could understand the struggles that I was going through, Tom became that friend and over the years he has been there to encourage me when I felt defeated, to give me hope when I felt hopeless. I will always cherish the memories of the time we shared as we traveled “the road to happy destiny together” I can truthfully say that I am a better person for having had such a friend. Go rest high on the mountain Tom, your work on earth is done.
