Gwendolyn Irene Quintyne

Gwendolyn Irene Quintyne, age 78 and resident of 75 Winding Ridge Road, died Thursday morning at her home. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Baker and Doris A. Grant. She was retired from the Brooklyn Veteran Hospital.

Mrs. Quintyne moved to Durham three years ago. She was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church.She loved people and never meet a stranger. Gwendolyn will be remembered for her courageous attitude in fighting cancer.

Her loving kindness and sweet spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

Surviving are her sons; Stephen Quintyne and Wife, Djamila of Durham and Michael Shaun Quintyne of Louisville, KY; a grandson, Alexander Stephen Quintyne of Durham and two brothers, Carlton Grant of Brooklyn, NY and John Grant of Queens, NY.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday in St. Stephens Episcopal Church. The Reverend Carol Jablonski will preside. Following the service, there will be a reception in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Duke University Oncology Department.
