Blake Anthony Mitchell

September 22, 2010 By Hall-Wynne 28 Condolences

Blake Anthony Mitchell came into the world bursting with joy on February 15, 2006, in the company of his whole family and getting his first kiss from his big sister. His life of four years was filled with laughter, color, boundless energy and immeasurable happiness his family celebrated every day. “Fu Baby” as he was always known, was brimming with affection, quick to tell his family how much he loved them. He was “all boy”, with an insatiable curiosity and a special love of balloons, bubbles and Mickey Mouse. Blake will also be remembered for his humor and how he imitated his big brother. So much of the Mitchell family’s world revolved around little Blake, and he has left beautiful imprints upon countless people.
All those who knew and loved Blakey join our hearts and voices to claim that light conquers darkness…..that love is stronger than death….that God always promises life.
Blake will be deeply missed by his parents Joseph and Christine Mitchell; his big sister, Alexis and big brother, Devin; his grandfather, Peter Perolini; his uncles Pete and Paul Perolini; a cousin, Serena Tibbit; and many uncles and aunts.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered 11:00 Tuesday from St. Matthew Catholic Church, with Fr. Robert Diegelman presiding. Burial will follow in the churchyard. Friends may visit 6-8 PM Monday at the church, 1001 Mason Rd., Durham. All are encouraged to wear brightly colored attire. Arrangements are with Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Donations may be made to the Blake Mitchell Fund, c/o any Wachovia Bank branch. On-line memorials: hallwynne.com. Select Obituaries.

Dale played with baseball with NJAA. He played against Devin many times and all of those times we would see little Blakey running around the field. Our hearts go out to your family in ways that we cannot describe. In His Love, The Myers Family

In times as these no words are satisfactory to express our sorrow for your family’s loss. We are heartbroken, but we will always remember Blake as that cheerful, smiling little boy on Sunday mornings that walked with his family to help present our community’s gifts to the altar. He looked so happy and proud to be able help carry that big basket all by himself. We will miss you Blake.

    To the Mitchell Family:

Even though I do not know your family, when I came across Blake’s page, I had to take the time to express my deepest sorrow of your loss. I too lost my son last year, and although the pain of our loss eases with time, it does not go away. May God give you comfort and support as you grieve your loss of Fu Baby. Your family will be in my prayers and thoughts.
