Wayne was my first boss out of college. To this day he is my best boss ever. I credit much of who I am today as a leader and what I do to the impact that Wayne had on me. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

I worked for Wayne at UNC when he was an area director, and he was always a wonderful boss and became my good friend as well. We stayed in contact throughout the years and he was always the most kind, giving, considerate and thoughtful friend. Know that he touched so many lives with his bright spirit and wonderful soul.

Although I had not seen Wayne in 23 years, I had to attend his memorial service yesterday to express my admiration for this friend. The fact that he impacted me in a way that I remember 23 years later speaks to the quality of this man’s character. It’s sad when a friend dies at a young age, but what I witnessed yesterday was what a full life Wayne experienced in his 53 years. So many family and friends who loved him! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you grieve the loss of this great person.
