I had the pleasure of being Tom’s manager and friend at Allied Barton Security Services at the Credit Suisse location. Tom was a pleasure to be around and always had a smile no matter how his day was going. He was an asset to the bank and he will be truely missed by many. Tom touched the lives of many employees at Credit Suisse both in NC and in NY with his winning personality. I will never forget his stories or how he loved his hot chicken wings…

My sincerest condolences go out to Melissa and Sherry and to all of the Knight family as you go thru this sad time.

Condolence from Ann on December 3rd, 2011 12:00 am

I am very thankful that I was able to be the caretaker to Tom in his last months. We shared a lot of memories and happenings of today during his stay in my home. We had a special friendship that will always be in my heart. I remember even after we divorced; his mother would call and say: “Ann, you need to talk to Tommy, I just can’t do anything with him right now. Please call him.” Of course, I would and we would have long conversations about what he was going through. He was a good father. He worked hard all his life to be the best he could be. So many people put their children in the middle of their battles and disagreemnts. We can say that this is one thing we did not do and that is why we were able to have this special friendship after divorce. We love our girls very much. Thanks Tom for all the memories and times we had together. You will be missed.

You will always be in my heart,

Condolence from Mike Campi on December 6th, 2011 12:00 am

On behalf of Credit Suisse, I wish to express our great sadness on hearing of Tom’s passing. Although I did not have the opportunity to work closely with Tom on a daily basis, I was most impressed with his consistency and commitment to providing his quality service at our bank. I also know from my colleagues Amy Benson and Nina Klein how Tom’s work ethic fit our bank like a glove fits a hand. He was a close member of our security team and as such, he shared the same values, professionalism, honesty, integrity, and commitment. Not only did Tom possess all these qualities, he was a genuinely nice person who was liked by all. His co-workers held him in high regard and very much enjoyed their time working with him. Credit Suisse’s Corporate Security team sends our most sincere condolences to Tom’s family and all of his colleagues at the bank who will greatly miss him.
Kind regards,
Mike Campi

Condolence from Bobby Holloway on May 14th, 2014 12:00 am

I am not sure if the family still visits this site to see if there are any new condolences sent, however I just found out of Tommy’s passing. I use to work with Tommy at Crum and Forster insurance company in Durham years ago, Tommy was always that quiet soul that love to play jokes on people and pick at folk, he was always very happy and cheerful. I lost contact with Tommy after C&F closed but never forgot him, his peronality and kind demeanor is everlasting to all that knew him. I was sadden when I found out and wish that I had found out earlier so that I could have paid my respects in person. I know the family is smiling and laughing from all the memories Tommy left behind, I know there are many and that is how he would want it.
