Condolence from Elly and Mike Smith on January 1st, 2018 6:51 pm

We are so very sorry for your loss. Steve was a man we were proud to count on as a good friend. We treasure the many memories of good times the four of us shared. Every person has an effect on the people they meet, Steve’s positive impact will definitely stay with us. He was more grounded and realistic in his approach to living his life than anyone we have met. When you couple those qualities with his perceptiveness, intelligence and wonderful sense of humor, to say that he will be missed is an understatement.
He battled his cancer and outlived his oncologist’s projected life expectancy. Not by a little but almost three times that prediction. We all benefited from those extra months of his time on earth. Now he is with the angels.
Unfortunately, we are unable to attend the funeral as we will be visiting our oldest son, Tim, In Houston. We will be there with you on Thursday in our thoughts and prayers.
