Susan S. Becker

Durham - Beloved mother and wife, Susan S. Becker, age 78, died in Durham on May 16, 2024. She was born on March 12, 1946, in Newburgh, New York to the late Mary and George Scofield.

Susan graduated from S. Clare Academy and Central City Business Institute. 

Susan is survived by her husband, James Becker (Burlington, North Carolina), daughters Kristin and Tricia, grandchildren Sofia, Dev, Harry, Ari, Alexander and sisters , Patricia Talarico and Edith Schuffenecker, and nephews Joseph, Anthony and niece Kimerly, as well as many others and their families. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and George, as well as her son, Joey.  We are celebrating her life with friends and family in upstate New York during the summer.

Susan’s love of reading inspired her daughters.  Her quirky ways earned her the nickname of Groove, fitting for her perspective on life.  She will be missed and is loved, always.
