She was an excellent cook and catered for weddings and other events. She loved to sing with her sisters and in the choir. Shirley was a member of Hope Valley Baptist Church since 1977.
Left to cherish her memory, are Shirley’s loving husband of 70 years, Billy Broadwell Lewter; children, Ronnie Lewter and wife, Kathy of Youngsville, Cathy Cates Lewter of Durham, Robin Wimberley and husband, Andy of Apex; three grandchildren, Brandon Cates (John), Brittany Eichelberger (David), and Adam Wimberley; two step-grandchildren, Dakota and Shania; a brother, Richard “Skipper” Stallings of Durham; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
