Rosalyn Estelle Crews, fondly known as Sister, went to her Heavenly home at the age of 90 on January 16, 2024. She lived her entire life in the home she was born at on May 27,1933 to her late parents, Norfleet Green Crews, Jr and Rosalyn Estelle HarrissCrews.
Sister led a full life. Faithful to her family, she worked hard raising tobacco alongside her family. Faithful to her church, she learned piano at a young age and played at Salem United Methodist for the majority of her life. Faithful to her community, friends to many and a truly giving soul.
Sister is survived by her nephew, whom she lovingly raised, Bruce Crews, Jr; her brothers, Bruce Crews of Henderson and his longtime friend, Mildred; James Thomas Crews of Brazil, South America and many extended family and friends too numerous to name.
Sister was predeceased by her parents and 3 brothers, Albert ”Bert” Crews, Norfleet G. “NG” Crews, IV and William Hunter Crews.
A funeral service to celebrate Rosalyn “Sister” Crews will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 10:00 am in the chapel at Gentry- Newell and Vaughan, of 503 College Street, Oxford, NC. A visitation for friends and family will be held on the same day from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Her final resting place will be at Salem UMC .
The family wishes to thank her caregivers for the wonderful care Sister received and her friends and the community.
