Leonard "Lenny" Swanson

Creedmoor – Leonard “Lenny” Swanson, 63, died on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Born March 20, 1962, in O’ahu, Hawaii, he was the son of the late Kenneth D. Swanson and Marcella Bohl Swanson.

Lenny was a Certified Toyota Master Technician. He loved motorcycles, rode a Harley, and went on many charity rides. He was known in the family for his Devil-Ish Eggs. He was the jokester in the family and was willing to help a friend or family in need. He loved America, Guns, Fireworks and giving Wet Willies. He doted on his grandchildren and always had hugs and kisses for his nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank his Duke Cancer Team for their tireless efforts over the past several years.

Lenny is survived by his son, Kenny Swanson and wife, Christine of Stem; grandchildren, Ava Swanson, Stella Swanson, and Jace Johnson all of Stem; sisters, Mary Swanson, Theresa Robertson, Patty Sawyer and husband, Ted all of Durham; niece and nephews, Stephen Denton and wife, Haley, Lindsey Denton, Brian Sawyer and wife, Beth, Robbie Sawyer, and Ben Sawyer; great nieces and great nephews, Mason Denton, Austyn Denton, Charlie Denton, Matty Ray Dickerson, Owen Dickerson, Kira Sawyer, Emily Sawyer, and Brooke Sawyer.

A time of memorial gathering will be held with the Swanson family from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, September 19th at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St. Durham, NC 27701.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bull City Hog Chapter, 2340 Mount Sinai Rd. Chapel Hill, NC 27514 in Lenny’s memory.
