Katharine Thelma Meyer, 95, of Hillsborough, NC, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family.
Katharine is survived by her loving daughter, Pamela Tulledge and husband Daniel Tulledge; three granchildren, Danny and Lilianna Tulledge, Todd Meyer (Marisol). She is also survived by her sister Pamela Juul (Skip); niece, Suzie Juul. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Harry August Meyer; two children, Gregory and Christopher Meyer.
She was born to parents Dr. Mitchell and Katharine (Walde) Jurdy December 5, 1928. Katharine was an excellent student and completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Minnesota and immersed herself in the world of banking. She found great joy in the business community and was highly respected by her co-workers. She made fast and lifelong friendships. She loved to chatter with her friends and was known for her infectious giggles. Whether spending time with her family and friends, or simply offering a listening ear, she touched the lives of all who knew her. Her nurturing spirit was evident in the countless moments of joy, laughter, and comfort she provided.
She was an extremely proud and supportive military wife with unwavering strength. She met her husband while he was on military leave from the Navy. She and her husband settled in Minnesota where they raised their children. They later moved to Florida and then to Arizona. Katharine and her husband eventually retired to North Carolina in 2003 where she treasured spending time with family and grandchildren.
Katharine was a woman of deep faith and a devote Catholic her entire life. Her children were born, raised, and attended school at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Richfield, MN. Her grandchildren grew up attending St. Matthew Catholic Church, Durham, NC. Katharine lived her life with profound honor and integrity, spirit and personal faith. She was a devoted wife and mother who was deeply admired and adored. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished and celebrated in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
There will be graveside services on August 3, 2024 at 10:00am at the cemetery of St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1001 Mason Rd., Durham, NC.27712.
