John Bruce Modrak

Jack was born in New Britain, Ct to Walter and Estelle Siok Modrak. He attended local schools and the University of Connecticut where he received his degree in pharmacy. He went on to earn his PhD in pharmacology from UConn. Jack taught for 10 years at the University of Nebraska College of Pharmacy in Omaha. He moved to Durham in 1984 where he worke at what was then Glaxo becoming the director of drug information. In Retirement he enjoyed woodworking, cooking, golf, APBA baseball and was a diehard Nebraska Football fan, He was a member of the NC Nebraska Football Fan Club that met in Raleigh. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Susan Kezi Modrak, 2 sons Mark Modrak (Brenda) of Leander, TX and Eric Modrak (Rachel) of Apex, NC. 3 grandchildren Natalie Pena Graca, Benjamin Modrak Moreno, and Gabriela Modrak Moreno of Leander TX and 1 sister Beth Gozdeck of Naples, FL and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and 2 sisters Nancy Moriarity and Susan Modrak. Jack was a long time member of Holy Infant Church in Durham NC. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to the Animal Protection Society (APS) of Durham or a charity of your choice
