James Edward Mason Jr.

DURHAM – James Edward Mason, Jr., age 50, died peacefully at Duke University Hospital on January 24, 2026. He was born on October 30, 1975 to the late James Edward Mason, Sr. and Helen Mills Mason.

James is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jennifer Mason, daughters Kendall Mason, Raegan Mason and Sydney Mason, mother Helen Mason, sister Sonya Mason Stewart (Vance) and many other treasured family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Mason, Sr.

A celebration of life will be held at Cross Culture at Leesville Road, 6211 Leesville Road, Durham, NC on Tuesday, February 3rd at 2:30 pm. Before the service, the family will receive visitors beginning at 2:00 pm.
