Faye Thomas Livengood passed away at her home in the early morning hours of June 7, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Born July 21, 1952, to Dorothy Lewis Thomas and David Henry Thomas, Jr. in Wadesboro, North Carolina.
Faye was educated in the Anson County School Systems, attended Elon College and graduated from the Duke University School of Radiologic Technology, proceeded to learn ultrasound technology at Duke and was on the staff from 1973 to 1980.
After her marriage to Dr. Charles Harris Livengood, III, she was employed at Chapel Hill Radiology for nine years before the birth of her only child, Nicholas McLeod Livengood.
Faye was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties, the Up-To-Date Book Club, the Debutante Ball Society and the Durham Kennel Club.
Faye was an avid reader, enjoyed growing orchids and in earlier years, raising and showing Samoyeds, which resulted in many owner-handled champions.
She is survived by the love of her life, her son, Nicholas, her sisters, Patricia Crowell of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Denise Pate of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Officiating will be Pastor Charlie McNeil. A visitation will follow after the service.
