Elmer Carrington Ballard died peacefully early Saturday morning, April 8, 2006 at Alterra Clare Bridge of Chapel Hill. He was born June 24, 1918 in Danville, VA to William Douglas and Anee Jones Ballard. The family soon moved to Texas, where his father and unee converted breweries to textile mills. They returned to NC in the early 1930
