Donald Wayne Hamm

(Durham, NC) - Donald Wayne Hamm, age 56, died at Duke Hospital on July 19, 2026. He was born on July 9, 1970 to Nancy Currin Hamm Mitchell and the late Donald Archer Hamm. 

Donald received two Associates Degrees from Durham Tech and graduated from Northern High School in Durham, NC. He was employed by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Lead Accounting Technician. Donald loved games and trivia, cooking, grilling, and baking homemade gourmet cheesecakes from scratch. He was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Durham, NC. 

Donald is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Kay Deal Hamm and his beloved German Shepherd, Eli. He is also survived by one brother, Jason Hamm, and 8 nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his father.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on a to-be-determined date.
