Daniel Gordon Tulledge passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on November 10, 2025. Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Pamela of 45 years, two children, Danny and Lilianna, two sisters, Sidna Tulledge-Scheitel (Mark), Suzanne Dahl (Manny Perez), many nieces and nephews.
Daniel was born in Oshkosh, WI. His family soon relocated to the Rochester/Byron, MN area where he spent his childhood. Daniel loved his minibike, fishing, water skiing and boating on the Mississippi. He discovered a passion for music at an early age, taught himself to play the guitar and quickly became an accomplished acoustic and electric guitarist. His favorite music was the blues for he said it told a story like no other. He continued to play his guitar throughout his life playing in local bands and at various jam sessions. He also had a great love of motorcycles and treasured his BMW Z3 Roadster.
He excelled in school and graduated from Byron High School. He continued his education and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota. He returned home to the Rochester, MN area and began his career at the Rochester Planning Department. He soon discovered his passion was in informational technology and wore many hats throughout his career from computer engineer, senior architect marketing engineer, IT director, cyber security architect, etc. He immersed himself in the early development of computers/standards and frequently traveled internationally.
He met the love of his life, Pamela, in Rochester, MN after graduating from college and they were married at St. Francis Catholic Church in Rochester, MN. They began their lives together in Rochester, MN and eventually relocated to warmer climate in AZ for career opportunities where their first child, Danny was born. After 10 years they continued their journey to the east coast and settled in North Carolina where Lilianna was born and where they resided the last 25 years.
Daniel firmly believed that learning was a lifelong process, one would never see Dan without a book or computer in hand. He was a voluminous reader constantly educating himself and sharing his knowledge with others. He had an incredible thirst for knowledge and the pursuit of new ideas. He was known for his skillful leadership and was highly spoken of as a remarkable manager who was generous with his knowledge and time. He was an inspiration and admired by his collogues and interns.
Daniel is preceded in death by his loving parents C. Dean Tulledge and Ruth Nellie Marie Tulledge (Schmidt). He embodied a sense of quiet strength; he was a very humble man. He was gifted with quick wit, infectious humor and an amazing ability to make people laugh and feel welcome. Daniel was a man of deep faith and lived his life with profound honor and integrity, spirit and personal faith.
My heart is heavy my love-I am forever blessed to have walked this journey with you hand in hand and I will forever cherish you. Rest peacefully and one day we will be together again.
There will be a visitation at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1001 Mason Rd, Durham, NC, 27712 on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 11:00am to 12:00pm. followed by a funeral mass at 12:00pm with Rev. John Curran, LC presiding. Burial will follow in the St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery with a reception following in the parish hall. Please join us is celebrating Daniel's life.
