Blanca Gloria Lowe Iturbe

Blanca Gloria Iturbe (Lowe), age 72, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in Durham, North Carolina.

Born on May 6, 1953, in Santiago de Chile, Blanca was the daughter of Luis Lowe and Olga Lowe (Osorio). She grew up alongside her brother Luis and sister Erika Jerez (Lowe). From an early age, Blanca displayed a vibrant personality—friendly, outgoing, empathetic, jovial, and never afraid to speak her mind.

Blanca dedicated her professional life to bridging cultures and connecting people through language. As an interpreter and translator, she brought clarity and understanding to countless individuals across linguistic divides. Her work reflected not only her linguistic skill but also her deep compassion for others—a hallmark of her character throughout her life.

She shared a long & loving marriage with her husband of 53 years, Angel Iturbe. Together they built a family that was the center of Blanca’s world. She was a devoted mother to Erika Wilson (Iturbe) and Christian Iturbe. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Andrew Iturbe, Nicholas Iturbe, Joseph Iturbe, Kaitlyn Warfel (Wilson), Christian Iturbe, and Makayla Wilson—and great-grandchildren Ava Rose Iturbe and Nicholas Iturbe.

Blanca’s warmth and spirited nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Whether offering a kind word or sharing a hearty laugh, she had a way of making people feel seen and valued. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Nacida el 6 de mayo de 1953 en Santiago de Chile, Blanca era hija de Luis Lowe y Olga Lowe (Osorio). Creció junto a su hermano Luis y su hermana Erika Jerez (Lowe). Desde pequeña, Blanca mostró una personalidad vibrante: amigable, extrovertida, empática, jovial y siempre dispuesta a expresar sus opiniones.

Blanca dedicó su vida profesional a conectar culturas y personas a través del idioma. Como intérprete y traductora, brindó claridad y comprensión a innumerables personas de diferentes culturas. Su trabajo reflejó no solo su habilidad lingüística, sino también su compasión profunda por los demás, un sello distintivo de su carácter a lo largo de su vida.

Compartió un matrimonio largo y amoroso con su esposo, Ángel Iturbe, durante 53 años. Juntos formaron una familia que fue el centro de su vida. Fue una madre devota de Erika Wilson (Iturbe) y Christian Iturbe. Su legado continúa a través de sus nietos: Andrew Iturbe, Nicholas Iturbe, Joseph Iturbe, Kaitlyn Warfel (Wilson), Christian Iturbe y Makayla Wilson, y sus bisnietos: Ava Rose Iturbe y Nicholas Iturbe.
