OXFORD: Mr. Willie Ray Adcock, age 90, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at his home. He was a native of Granville County and the son of the late Emmett Abson and Nettie Howard Adcock and his step-mother Teresa Resa Pruitt. Willie Ray was a member of Hester Baptist church, where he served on many church committees, including deacon, Trustee and the Brotherhood. He was also Board of Directors of REA, ASCS Office and Farmer's Exchange. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, neember 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Hester Baptist Church by Dr. Randy Bridges, Reverend Alex Gallimore and Dr. Lavelle Waters. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Surviving is a daughter, Barbara Adcock Newcomb Sonny of Durham; sons, J. Howard Adcock Linda of Durham, William T. Adcock Beth, Ken Adcock Kay aneernest R. Adcock all of Oxford; sister, Luetta Frazier of Oxford; nee grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his extended family the E. Marable family. He was preceded ineeath by his wife of 68 years, Bessie Mae Currin Adcock; brother, Raymond A. Adcock and a sister, Hettie Averette. The family would like to thank the caregivers, Linda and James Morris and also the Amedisys Hospice Care. The family will receive friends on Friday, neember 1, 2013 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of William and Beth Adcock.
