Ursula "Sula" Frazier Hughes

Oxford: Ursula "Sula Frazier Hughes, 83, of Oxford, died October 2, 2014 in Oxford. She was born February 13, 1931 in Granville Co. to the late Hugh Rowland Frazier and Virginia Robert Tuck Frazier. She was the widow of Talton T. Hughes. She was a graduate of Oak Hill School and Danville Hospital School of Nursing, Danville Virginia. She was a dedicated registered nurse at Granville Hospital in the operating room and at the Granville Co. Health Department. She was a loyal member of Oxford Baptist Church. She is survived by her son David T. Hughes (Shawn) of Oxford, Sister-in-law Marilyn Logan (Richard) of Oxford and a number of special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Theodosia F. Rudisill and Lynwood F. Daniel, and her brother Hugh Robert Frazier. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Oxford Baptist Church by the Rev. Chris Aho. Family will receive friends prior to the service in the Family Life Center of the church from 1:30 3:00 and other times at the home of David and Shawn Hughes, Tranquil Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oxford Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 398 Oxford, NC 27565. The family is under the care of Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home.
