Teresa Jones Lougee passed away from her earthly home on April 26, 2020. She lived with her devoted husband Brent Lougee, Sr. in Midlothian, Virginia. Teresa was the daughter of Murle and Mary B. Jones and grew up in Charlotte, NC. She was one of five sisters who were raised with an early tradition of singing gospel music together, building a foundation of Christian faith and learning to harmonize literally and figuratively with each other.

Though Teresa was shy, she was very strong in her love for family and friends. During their 43 years of marriage Brent and Teresa created a fun and loving home for their 3 children. Teresa’s sense of humor was part of her great strength and her gift to others who hold her dear. She deeply loved her children, her three grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

Teresa was predeceased by her parents and her sister Duree Hunter. She leaves us to cherish her memory: her husband, and her children, Brent Lee Lougee, Jr. and wife Katy of Stanley, NC, Seth B. Lougee of Midlothian, VA, and Sadie B. Lougee of Richmond, VA, as well as her grandchildren, Ethan, Emma and Eli Lougee. Other family members who celebrate her are her sisters and their families: Denise Harton and husband David, Cindy Hammer and husband Howard, Torrie Thompson and husband James, and brother-in-law Jerry Hunter with his children; and father-in-law, V.B. Lougee, and sister-in-law Carol Danforth and husband John.

A private graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham, N.C. The family will gather for a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
