Sarah Aneews Ivey

Sarah Aneews Ivey peacefully crossed over to be with God ineer home at 1829 Front Street on Sunday. Sarah was the daughter of Charles L. and Vera Regan Aneews. She was born and grew up in Durham, and was educated in the Durham City schools. After education Sarah moved to Atlanta, where she attended stewardess school at Eastern Airlines. While there she met and married Curtis L. Ivey, a pilot for Piedmont Airlines. She and Curtis were stationed in various cities during their marriage. Later Sarah moved to Myrtle Beach, SC where she lived for eight years before returning to Durham. She was employed at Duke Medical Center until retirement. Sarah is survived by her brother, Charles Aneews and wife, Barbara, an aunt and a number of cousins. She is also survived by a special friend and caregiver, Ruth Stone. Friends will be received 1-3:00 PM Thursday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service & Crematory. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM Thursday in Maplewood Cemetery, with the Rev'd Martha McLean officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Protection Society, 2117 E. Club Blvd, Durham 27704.
