DURHAM -Robert Clair Kenyon died peacefully the afternoon of??June??25th in Durham.?? Born in St. Louis, Missouri oneeptember 19, 1920, Robert retired to Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina in 1983 with his wife Nina.?? After 63 years of marriage, she predeceased him in 2005. In their early years, Bob and Nina lived in Hollywood, California where he worked for Paramount Pictures in the set department.?? Later he worked as a production planner in the space industry for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis, participating in project Gemini. ??In 1967 he graduated from Washington Uneersity, St. Louis, with a BA in library science.?? Prior to his retirement, Robert was a school librarian in Normandy, Missouri.?? He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the U.S. Armed Forces. After his wife???s death, Robert moved to Emerald Pond Retirement Community in Durham to be near family.?? He is survived by his daughter Tracy Kenyon Lischer and husband Richard Lischer of Durham; his soneegan Clair Kenyon and wife Mary Kenyon of Vero Beach, Florida; his granddaughter Sarah Kenyon Lischer and two great-grandsons, Luke Kenyon Sherman and Calvin Aneew Sherman of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; his granddaughter-in-law Jenneer Lischer and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Adam Lischer of Durham; his grandsoneegan Clair Kenyon, Jr. and wife Winee Kenyon and two great-granddaughters, Isabella Leilani Kenyon and Ava Noelani Kenyon of Dayton, New Jersey; and his granddaughter Moriah Quinlan Rosenblum and husband Scott Baxter Rosenblum and great-grandson Brock Baxter Rosenblum of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. Robert joins ineeath not only his beloved wife, parents and grandmother, but also his beloved grandson Richard Adam Lischer (1972-2005). A memorial service will be held at St. Paul???s Lutheran Church, Durham, at 1:30 on Sunday June 28 at the outdoor Memorial Garden.?? Donations ineemory of Robert Clair Kenyon may be made to the Adam Lischer Memorial Scholarship, c/o Durham County Bar Association, 115 E. Main St., Durham, North Carolina 27701.
