Rheta Leverett Skolaut

Rheta Leverett Skolaut, age 83, died Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at her residence at The Forest at Duke. Rheta was born in Parrott, GA to the late John H. and Lottie Lou Smith Leverett on April 21, 1934. She was a graduate of the Uneersity of Georgia School of Pharmacy and was a registered pharmacist ineeorgia, Florida, Maryland, Illinois and North Carolina. Rheta was a member on neerous boards and organizations but was most proud of her 17-year board affiliation with the Duke Children???s Classic where she chaired the Spouses Program for 16 years. A resident of The Forest at Duke since 1992, Rheta served on The Forest at Duke board and the Residents Association board. Her other board and committee responsibilities at The Forest are too neerous to mention. Rheta authored several cookbooks aneenjoyed extensive travel with her late husband, Milton W. Skolaut, who died in 2005. They were both members of St. Paul???s Lutheran Church in Durham. Rheta is survived by her sister, Carolyneelly (Harold) of Bainbridge, GA; step-son, Milton W. Skolaut, Jr.; step-daughter, Barbara Ann Skolaut; nephews, Dean Davis (Mary Gail); Dwayne Kelly (Margaret); nieces, Gloria Davis Lindsay (Don); Eloise Davis; and Marvelyneelly Smith (Terry). She was preceded ineeath by her sister, Grace Leverett Davis; brother, Earl Leverett; nephews, Tom Davis and Calvineeverett; and niece, Dianne Leverett. Graveside services in Maplewood Cemetery will be private. Friends may visit Friday evening, October 20, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W. Main St. in Durham. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rheta???s memory may be made to The Forest at Duke Benevolent Fund or to a charity of one???s choice.
