Molly Leggett Cozart

Oxford, NC Molly Leggett Cozart, 80 passed away into the arms of her Lord, Jesus Christ on July 31, 2010 at Duke Hospice Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC. She was born on August 27, 1929 in Kinston, NC. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, James F. Cozart of Oxford, NC and her parents Florence Ellingtoneeggett and Fredrick A. Leggett, both of Kinston, NC. She is survived by her son, James F. Cozart, Jr. and wife Janet T. Cozart of Kenansville, NC; and her daughter, Sally Cozart Combs and husband J. Christopher Combs of Durham, NC. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jamie L. Cozart, J. T. Cozart, Kenneth L. Combs and Christianne C. Combs and two great grandchildren, Kayla Combs and Hunter Combs, and a brother, Fredrick A. Leggett, Jr. and wife Margaret Gower Leggett of Orlando, FL and their children Elizabeth Grahl and Fred Leggett. She is also survived by sister-in-law Mary Alice Cozart Black Freeman and nieces and nephews Virginia Turner of Oxford, and Winston Black of Wilmington NC. Molly grew up in Kinston, NC and attended Greensboro College and graduated from East Carolina Teachers College. She was a well-loved elementary school teacher for many years in Oxford, NC and Mooresville, NC. She also taught school at the Lakeland Center for developmentally disabled ineenderson, NC. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a member of the Oxford Uneed Methodist Church for many years until moving to Durham, NC thirteeneears ago due to declining health. The family would like to express thanks to the staff at Duke Hospice at the Hock Family Pavilion, Pastors Staneeyer, Brad Bradley, members of Springs of Life Bible Church, and loving friend and caregiver Beth Bradford for their love and compassionee care. Funeral services will be held on August 3, 2010 at 11am at Gentry-neell and Vaughan Chapel located at 503 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565 with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Flowers or memorials are welcome. Memorials canee made to the Autism Society of NC, 505 Oberlin Road, Suite 230, Raleigh, NC 27605
