Merrill Jerome Jordan

Merrill Jerome Jordan, 84, of Oxford, NC, passed away March 16, 2022 in Durham, NC. He was born March 26, 1937 in Roxboro, NC, son of Minnie Jordan .

Merrill worked as a Correctional Officer for the NC State Correctional Department. He was a member of New Horizons Baptist Church.  Merrill had a gift of a beautiful baritone voice and loved music.

Surviving are his son, Douglas Ray Jordan of Roxboro, NC; grandson, Grant Alexander Jordan (Brianna) of Raleigh, NC; his cherished cousins, Phyllis Waters and Faye Atkinson and his dear sister-in-law, Rebecca Noel. He will be missed by many friends, also.

Merrill was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Painter Jordan; his wife, Peggy Hobgood Jordan and his grandson, Ian Gabriel Jordan.

A graveside service will be held at Meadowview Memorial Park on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Cam Ford officiating.
