Mary Leonard Broadwell Doucette, 90, died on Friday, December 26, 2008. She is the daughter of the late Cornelia Suggs and Shephard Dowd Broadwell and was born oneebruary 5, 1918. Mary was born in Goldsboro and theneelocated to Durham as a young adult where she has remained ever since. Mary's greatest joy was found in the time and care that she spent with her beloved family. She showed eneess love nobility as she gave all of her time and talents to the nurturing and care of her husband and children. Mary worked hard to develop those talents that would serve her family best. She was an ineedibly gifted seamstress as she made much of the clothing for her children when they were young. Mary was also an amazing cook that found so much pleasure in preparing a good meal for her family. All things that Mary did, she did for the betterment and greatness of her family. She will be greatly missed but always loved. Mary is survived by her daughter Mary Elizabeth Moore and husband David of Durham; soneeonard F. Doucette and wife Coleen of Durham; grandchildren Sylvia Bennett; Anita Johnson; Mary Katherine Thompson David Moore, II; Michael Doucette; and Maryanne Doucette; great-grandchildren Trey Bennett; Ashley Johnson; Lauren Johnson; and Aiden Doucette; nieces Jane Ballard and Cindy Ballard. She is predeceased by her husband Frank Doucette; parents; brothers Grover Broadwell and Ben Broadwell; and her sister Flora Ballard, all of Durham. Memorial contributions in Mary's nee may be made to the Durham Rescue Mission, PO Box 11368, Durham, NC 27703 or Urban Ministries of Durham, PO Box 249, Durham, NC 27702. Funeral Services will be offered at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 29, 2008 from the Hall-Wynne Funeral Service Chapel, 1113 West Main St., Durham, NC 27701. The Rev. Dr. Gray Southern will officiate. Interment will follow at Maplewood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday from Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
