Marianna Daniel Berry

Marianna Daniel Berry, age 79, passed away peacefully August 28, 2016 at Villages of Wilkes Rehab Center, North Wilkesboro, N.C. after a period of declining health. She was born June, 3, 1937 in Granville County, NC to Gladys and Sam Daniel. Marianna was the eighth of nine children. Mrs. Berry was a flight attendant with Eastern airlines from 1957-1988. Her home base was Atlanta, Georgia where she resided fifty -five years. She traveled extensively and delighted friends and family with stories of her travels. Marianna was a true lady with a sense of humor, and she endeared herself to those with whom she came in contact. She moved to the High Country of North Carolina five years ago to be closer to her family. Known for her gracious manner and gentle spirit, she maintained friendships both in Atlanta and North Carolina. She enjoyed the serenity of mountain life while she often struggled with health issues. Mrs. Berry is survived by her sister, Betty Daniel Upchurch (Lewis) of Fleetwood, N.C.; and two brothers, Bobby Daniel (Bonnie) of Kernersville, N.C. and William Daniel of Oxford, NC. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law; and twenty-three nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, David Berry; her parents, Gladys and Sam Daniel; and five brothers, Dorsey, Allen, Frank, Luther, and Sam Daniel, Jr. The funeral for Marianna will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 11:00 AM at Enon Baptist Church, Oxford, N.C. with Rev. Steve Brown officiating. Visitation will follow the burial at Enon Community Building. Memorials may be made to Helping Hands Ministry, Enon Baptist Church, 2298 Enon Road, Oxford N.C. 27565.
