Louise Duncan Watkins

Louise Watkins 87, died on May 15, 2019 surrounded by her family. ??The daughter of the late Melvin and Oderine Kearney Duncan, Louise was born in Granville County on June 26,1931. Louise was the matriarch of the Watkins family.?? She met and married her longtime love, the late James Dudley Watkins. She was a dedicated and a true woman of caring nature. She loved to help others and would take in everyone. Louise loved to cook and provide service to others. She was a long time Sunday school teacher and Youth leader. She was a strength within the community. A deep love for Providence Baptist Church and West Oxford Baptist Church, she served each with a strong conviction. Louise is survived by her loving daughters, Teresa Watkins Wood (Bruce), Jamie Watkins Duke (Cecil), and Robin Watkins Heath; her sister, Sandra Duncan Green (Bobby); her grandchildren, Ashley Coffield Parker (Brian), Suzanne Coffield Wheeler (Dylan), Cecilia ???CeCe??? Duke and James Michael Heath (Channing); her great grandchildren, Dalton Wray Parker, Callie Gray Heath, Ava Jaymes Parker, Ryan Michael Heath, aneella Jaymes Wheeler; along with neerous loving nieces and nephews, friends and family. She will neer forget the relationship with her special friends, ???The Golden Girls??? Mary Lewis Bowling and the late JoAnn Currin and her sweet, longtime friend, Becky Smith Louise was predeceased by her parents; her husband, James; her siblings, Barbara Duncan Wilkerson, Gloria Duncan Jones and Gwenda Duncan Womack; and her grandson, Robert Brian Jones. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Gentry-neell and Vaughan, officiated by Rev. Bruce Beck.?? ??A family visitation will be held oneednesday, May 22, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
