Lois Harris Moore died peacefully at her home on January 12th, 2015. Lois was born in Apex NC on neember 12, 1924. She is preceded ineeath by her father and mother, Fabius and Floyda Seagroves, her husbands Joseph Prichart Harris and James Sidney Moore, her daughter Ann Virginia Harris and her granddaughter, Tanya Kay Jennings. She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Jo Harris and Mary K Harris and son in law Gerald Blount, her granddaughters, Sarah Davis and Amy St. Louis and husband Scott St. Louis, her grandsons Joseph Estes and Will Estes, and great granddaughters Brenda St. Louis, Lois Geist, and Solianeestes and great grandson Ryan St. Louis. Lois moved to Pittsboro when she married Joe in the early 1940???s aneenjoyed a very long and active life. They built the house she has lived in for over 50 years. She and Joe enjoyed riding horses while raising their 3 daughters. Lois worked at the Kayser-Roth hosiery mill in Pittsboro, the Bank of Pittsboro and Social Services before obtaining her accounting degree at night school to become the Town Clerk of Pittsboro for over 20 years. Lois touched many hearts and was a very giving person to all. She loved her friends and family. She was very fond of music, dancing, travel, fishing, and cooking. She was famous for her pound cakes and chicken and dumplings. She was always telling folks to slow down and take time to ???smell the roses???. Lois was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and loved going to the conventions. She voluneered at the Pittsboro Historical Museum and loved to meet the people that visited there. She was a member of the Pittsboro Baptist Church and the 3 L???s. She loved going to the Christmas shows at Myrtle Beach and other trips the 3 L???s sponsored. She also loved going to Charlie???s Barn on Friday nights for the music and friendship and to the Sanford Enrichment Center on Saturday night where she sold half and half tickets. Lois will be remembered and missed by all the folks who knew her. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 14th at 1:00 pm at St. Bartholomew???s Episcopal Church located at 204 West Salisbury Street in Pittsboro, NC. A visitation will be held after the service at the Pittsboro Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 2:00 ??? 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations canee made to the Chatham County Council on Aging, 365 North Carolina Highway 87, Pittsboro, NC 27312. Hall-Wynne Griffin Chapel is serving the Moore family.
