Laurie B Pruitt, 55, passed away on Tuesday, June 16 th, 2015. Mrs. Pruitt was born in??Washington,??North Carolina on neember 19, 1959 to the late Leslie Jr. and Barbara Beddard. She was a graduate of Meredith College having gone on to serve 32 years as a teacher in the public school system. Mrs. Pruitt was a member of the Oxford Junior Women???s Club and also a proud retired soccer mom. Mrs. Pruitt was an avid support of the Oxford Baptist Church youth ministry and their mission trips. She is survived by her husband George A. Pruitt; a daughter, Emily Pruitt; two sons, Allen Pruitt and Aneew Pruitt, all of Oxford; two sisters, Anee and Gary Roberson of Raleigh and Lesley and Charles Holley of Washington, NC; three sister- in- laws, Beth and William Adcock, Anne Whitehead, and Martha and Johnny Thompson all of Oxford, NC; also many nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Gentry neell and Vaughan Funeral Home in Oxford, NC. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11 am at Oxford Baptist Church, Oxford, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oxford Baptist Church, Back Pack Buddies Ministry, PO Box 398, Oxford, NC 27565. Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home is serving Pruitt family.
