John Fletcher Mann

Mr. John Fletcher Mann, 88, of River Road in Pittsboro died October 29, 2013 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Mr. Mann was born in Chatham County on March 23, 1924, the son of Wardeneesley Mann and Daisy Dean Thompson Mann. He attended Bynum School, and theneent to work at UNC. He later went to work with Carolina Telephone Company, where he retired after 32 years of service. Mr. Mann loved spending time camping in the mountains, and looked forward to the times he was able to be there with the friends he and his late wife Lillian had made over the years. Mr. Mann was a member of Orange Chapel Uneed Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Jenneer G. Mann who lives at the homeplace; grandsons, William Samuel Pergerson and Joseph Wesley Edwards, of the homeplace, John Thomas "Johnny" Mann of Apex, and Chad Hunter Mann, also of the homplace; great-granchildren, Dakota Lyneergerson, Aaron Christopher Edwards, Cody Edwards, Brook E. Mann and Hunter Mann; and great-great-grandchildren, Aiden Edwards, Jacob Edwards, and Layla Edwards. Mr. Mann was preceded ineeath by his parents, his wife Lillian, and son Tommy Mann. The service to celebrate the life of Mr. John Mann will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning, October 31, 2013, at Orange Chapel Uneed Methodist Church with the Rev. Carl Belcher and the Rev. Bob Eldridge presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6 8 pm oneednesday at Hall Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro.
