Janee Elizabeth Benjamin

DURHAM ??? Janee Elizabeth Benjamin, age 71, died peacefully at home surrounded by her children on neember 8th, 2018. She was born on neember 16th, 1946 to the late Weldon and Vivian Laiche. After graduating with honors from Georgetown Uneersity she dedicated her life to healthcare. She worked with Native American communities, moved on to work at NIH then on to study Chinee medicine and continually looked for ways to heal people and the world. She loved her family, gardening, reading aneexploring her own spirituality and relationship with God. Janee is survived by her son, Aaroneenjamin, daughter, Talitha Benjamin (Scott), brother, Weldon Laiche (Susan), sister Karen Fisher (Ron) and grandchildren Isabelle and Oliver Richie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, neember 13, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Durham, NC with a reception to follow. ??In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project woundedwarriorproject.org The Benjamin family is under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
