Jack Johnson The Auctioneer died peacefully Monday, February 8, 2010 at the VA Hospital in Durham. He was 91 years old. Jack was born in Guilford County oneebruary 16, 1918 to the late Jack Isaac and Hassie Calicutt Johnson. A member of Northgate Presbyterian Church, Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his daughter, Joan J. Hutchins and husband, Dick, of Durham; his son, David Wayne Johnson and wife, Mary Ann, of Creedmoor; his sister, Mary Johnson Carter of Athens, GA; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Jack was preceded ineeath by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Compton Johnson; one sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 15, 2010 from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service with Chaplain Audrey Wilson presiding. Entombment with military honors will follow in Woodlawneemorial Park. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM in the funeral home.
