Hilda Elizabeth Bradshaw

DURHAM: Hilda Elizabeth Bradshaw, 81, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2012 at Saint Marks Hospital, Salt Lake City, UT, surrounded by her loving family. Hilda was born October 15, 1930 in Clinton, NC to Owen and Bettie Bradshaw. She was raised in the Clinton area and attended Halls High School, graduating in 1949. She married James Aneew Bradshaw in 1953 in Durham. Together they raised one daughter, Dorothy Dottie. Hilda worked for General Telephone GTE for over 42 years. She was an exceptional employee who was highly respected and liked by all and rose to the position of supervisor. After her professional career ended she was an enthusiastic voluneer at Duke Hospital for over 15 years and was awarded a lifetime voluneer award. Hilda was a member, deacon, and a well-liked church staff voluneer at First Presbyterian Church. She unselfishly gave of her time and talents to serve her church and fellow man. Hilda was a very independent woman who loved visiting her daughter in Utah aneenjoyed all manner of outdoor activities. She was devoted to her family aneespecially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Charles III. She will always be remembered for her warmth, wit, charm and her ability to make friends where ever she went. Surviving are her sister, Betty Jackson of Fayetteville, her daughter Dorothy "Dottie" Hussey of Salt Lake City and grandson, Charles Hussey III of Salt Lake City. Hilda was preceded ineeath by her parents, her siblings; Franklin Bradshaw Buddy, Della Travis Jacksoneelsie Thornton Pope, Janet Bradshaw Jordan, and her husband, James Aneew Bradshaw. A service of witness to the Resurrection will be 2:00 PM Monday from First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Joseph S. Harvard, III officiating. A brief reception will follow at church prior to burial in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit 4-6 PM Sunday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
