Helen Averett Daniel

Oxford: Helen Averett Daniel, wife of the late Graham Howerton Daniel, died Monday, January 13, 2014. Mrs. Daniel was a native of Granville County, the daughter of the late Macon William Averett and Clara Daniel Averett. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Daniel was a member of the WMU and a teacher for the GA's for many years. She was also a member of the Mt. Zion choir. Mrs. Daniel is survived by three daughters; Priscilla D. Gardner Kenneth of the home, Mary Helen Talbott of Oxford, Martha D. Morris Ben of Leonardtown, MD. She is survived by one sister; Edna A. Robinson of Fuquay, a brother; Macon W. "Bill" Averett of Oxford. Mrs. Daniel had seven grandchildren; Steven Gardner, Greg Gardner, Lisa Picarelli, Rob Critcher, Jeffrey Critcher and Stacy C Splees John, Clair Morris Talebian Bobby and twelve great grandchildren. Mrs. Daniel was predeceased by a brother Frank J. Averett and one sister Estelle A. O'Brian. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 12:30 2:00pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the fellowship hall and the funeral will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary. Services will be conducted by the Reverend Keith Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1171 Hwy 158 W, Oxford, NC 27565.
