Eris Hoke Garrard

Eris Hoke Garrard, age 79, died Sunday morning, October 15, 2006 ineer Durham home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 24, 1927 in Morganton, NC to the late Albert E. and Frances Harris Hoke. Mrs. Garrard was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. During the span of nearly 20 years, she was employed at the Downtowner Motor Inn, Garrard Sausage Co. and the Wabash Steakhouse. Mrs. Garrard is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert S. Garrard of Durham; Angela G. Lanning and husband, Ric, of Wilmington, NC; Amanda Gail Garrard of Durham; her son, Robert Aneew Garrard, also of Durham; her sister, Rima Christie of Clayton, NC; two brothers, David Hoke, and wife, Victoria, of Lindenwold, NJ; and Garland Hoke and wife, Ann, of Wake Forest, NC; and two grandchildren, Blair and Meghann Parrish of Wilmington, NC; and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 18, from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service with Reverend David Hoke presiding. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ric Lanning, Robert Frank Garrard, Kenny Garrard, Jay Garrard, Ike Garrard and Pat Christie.
