Emma Cudic

Emma Kumini Cudic, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 24,2020. She was born on May 26, 1928 in Belgrade Yugoslavia.
Emma grew up in Yugoslavia during the turbulent years of World War II. After the war, the family emigrated to Austria where they resided in a refugee camp in Innsbruck, Austria. It was there that she met and married her husband John Srdjan Cudic and they began their family. In 1950, the family was sponsored by a church in North Carolina to emigrate to the United States. They were placed with a family in Henderson to work on their tobacco farm. In 1955, the family relocated to Durham where they raised their three children and she lived until just recently. Emma was an avid Duke Basketball fan, who represented her beloved Blue Devils by wearing their apparel daily.
She is survived by two sons George and Steve Cudic, five Grandchildren and five Great grandchildren. Emma is preceded in death by her beloved husband and daughter Mirjana Cudic.
Family will hold a private service at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham, North Carolina.
