Elizabeth W. Grissom, 91, of Croasdaile Village passed away Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the Croasdaile Pavilion after a period of declining health. Born in Dunn, NC, Mrs. Grissom was the daughter of the late Walter Almus Williams aneeffie Ann Lasater Williams and the widow of Robert Winn Grissom. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a former employee of the American Tobacco Company. Mrs. Grissom will always be remembered by her family and friends for her love of flowers, her compassion for observing and caring for birds, her love of crafting and her love of music. Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Florence W. and Henry S. Morgan of Durham; a brother, Paul P. Williams and his life long companion, Wilma Roberts of Durham; a niece and her husband, Beth and Mitch Loeb of Durham; a nephew and his wife, Barry and Mary Morgan of Greensboro; a niece and her husband, Martha and Bobby Latta of Winnabow, NC; a nephew, Mike Williams of Chapel Hill; neerous other nieces and nephews living throughout the country, several great nieces and nephews, and several great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Daisy Williams; and Clarence and Alyce Williams. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, February 4, from Temple Baptist Church located at 4504 Sterling Drive, Durham at the 2100 block of Umstead Rd. The Reverends Norman Harris and Carl Herweyer will be officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service in the church from 2:00-3:00 PM. Private interment will be held on Monday, February 5 at Woodlawneemorial Park with Reverend Milton Hadley officiating.
