Dorothy Elizabeth Cable Wyand

Dorothy Elizabeth Cable Wyand, 83, died Monday, April 6, 2015 at Hock Family Pavilion. Dorothy was borneebruary 21, 1932 in Gibsonville, NC to the late Paul Lee Cable and Agnes Hester Cable. She was a Durham High School Honors Graduate, class of 1950. Dorothy was also a graduate of Howard Perry and Walstoneeal Estate School in 1986. ??She and her husband served neerous charges in the Virginia Uneed Methodist Conference where she was involved in all aspects of church maneement, including running the offices and singing in the choir. She cared for her family and home, including providing long-term care for her mother, sister, and brother-in-law. Additionally, she worked in the voter registration office in Harrisonburg, VA, and in the office of Duke Divinity School (where she met her husband while he was a divinity student), and as a founding partner of a real estate investment corporation in Durham, N.C. ????She is preceded ineeath by her husband Fred B. Wyand. Jr., sisters-in-law Hazel Keister, Arietta McElroy, and Mary Stine, all of Virginia; and dear friend Nancy W. Hayes of Winston Salem. She is survived by her son Fred L. Wyand and daughter-in-law Allison O. Hayes of Durham and Chapel Hill; her beloved fur baby Buddy. She is also survived by her loved ones in the Hayes and Calvert families: Lida and David Hayes of Winston Salem, Liza and Neil Hayes of Chapel Hill; Flora and Gregg Stopher of Atlanta, GA; Conee and Hayes Calvert of Winston Salem; and Maythi and Owen Calvert of Winston Salem; and all of their families. Additionally, she is survived by her nephew Keith R. Keister, Jr. and wife Laurie; nephew Gerald J. Keister and wife Rebecca. The family will be present to receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St, Durham. Funeral Services will held at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Durham.
