Charlie “Pete” Sherman Ellington, born on May 17, 1937 and passed on October 17, 2020 at the age of 83. Pete was the son of the late Beedle Sherman Ellington and Nora Lee Roberts of Granville County.

Pete is survived by his wife of 59 years, Vera M Ellington; his son, Mark A. Ellington (Susan) and his daughters, Glenda Short (Anthony Byron (deceased)) and Angela Blackwell (Terry). He is survived by his siblings, Butch, Ronnie, Mike, Shirley, Julia, Sarah, and Becky. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his beloved niece, Lisa Jones. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends too numerous to name.

Pete was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Betty Wilson and his brother, Kenny Ellington

Visitation will be held at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan in Oxford, NC on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm with a service to be held in the Chapel at 2:00 pm and entombment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family requests that all attendees wear appropriate face coverings in addition to the safe practices of social distancing.
