OXFORD: Catherine Strickland Adcock , died March 15, 2013 at her home. She was a native of Vance Co. and was the daughter of the late William Nathaniel and Maggie Belle Grissom Strickland. she was preceded ineeath by her husband David L. Adcock, Sr. She was a member of the Oxford Uneed Methodist Church , member of the UMW and the Edna Crews Circle. Catherine worked for Union National bank and retired from Southern National Bank. Catherine was a loving mother and was lovingly known by "nanee" by all of her grandchildren . Funeral services will be conducted Sunday March 17, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the Oxford Uneed Methodist Church by Rev. David Haley and Rev. Alaneeonee. Burial will be in the Adcock Family Cemetery ineerea. Surviving is a son, David L. Adcock, Jr. Conee of Oxford; daughters, Cathy A. YanceyGeorge of Oxford, and Mildred A. HartfordDavid of Littleton, Col.; brother, Clyde L. Strickland of Butner; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded ineeath by sisters, Virginia Dickerson, Mildred Strickland and brothers Billy Strickland, Marvin Strickland and T. W. Strickland. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services in the fellowship hall of the church. At other times they will be at the home.
