Celebrating the Life of Betty Ruth Farmer Moore Sunrise: September 11, 1943 -?? Sunset:?? January 13, 2019 Betty Ruth Farmer Moore was born oneeptember 11, 1943, to the proud parents, Mr. Jeff and Mrs. Lucille Washington Farmer in Shorterville, Alabama. Betty accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age as a faithful member of New Salem Baptist Church in Shorterville, Alabama.?? She regularly attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Haleburg, Alabama, where she served Christ throughout her life. She is a graduate of Alabama State Uneersity where she obtained a Bachelor???s degree in English and Troy State Uneersity where she obtained a Master???s degree in Library Science. She was a proud member of the Beta Eta chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She attended Alabama State Uneersity on a full academic scholarship.?? While at Alabama State, she served as the student body Vice President. Betty dedicated her life to helping others. She taught and worked as a librarian in Montgomery Public Schools for neerous years. She has served as a member of the Katie Holloway Club affiliated with the Dothan Association of Women???s Clubs. She would also serve her community by voluneering with the Haleburg Community Center. She was preceded ineeath by her parents, Mr. Jeff and Mrs. Lucille Farmer; two of her sisters, Mary Alice Farmer Gray and Martha Farmer Kinsey; her brother, Willie Jeff Farmer; and her two brothers-in-law, Emmitt Kinsey and Ceffer Stovall. She leaves to cherish her memory her two children, John Edward Moore, III (Crystal) of Raleigh, North Carolina and Tiffaney S. Moore Randolph (Damion) of Westley Chapel, Florida; her sister, Ethell Farmer Stovall of Haleburg, Alabama; her grandson, John Edward Moore, IV of Raleigh, North Carolina; her granddaughter, Makayla Crystianna Moore of Raleigh, North Carolina;?? her four nieces, Sherryl Stovall Whiting of Dothan, Alabama, Charlene Gregoire (Duckens) of Westbury, New York, Pamela Dobbins of Glen Burnie, Maryland, and Kimberly Cooper of Brooklyn, New York; three nephews, Emmitt Kinsey and Anthony Kinsey both of Tampa, Florida, and Johnny Cooper of Texas; her great nieces and nephews, Adrienne Nicole Stovall of Montgomery, Alabama, Lya Whiting Snell (Eddie) of McDonough, Georgia, Albert Christopher Whiting, Jr. of Montgomery, Alabama, Aisha Dobbins of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Jamal Dobbins of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Ericka Nieves of Westbury, New York, and Dukens Gregoire of Westbury, New York, Emily Kinsey, Maya Kinsey, Evan Kinsey, Amanda Jones, Xavier Kinsey, Emma Kinsey, Emmitt Jelani Kinsey, Alexander Kinsey, Eliza Kinsey, and Taylor Kinsey all of Tampa, Florida and several great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and special friends. Betty recently relocated to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area to be closer to her son.?? Betty was loved and will be missed by a host of loving family and friends.
